The Value of "Real Life" Experience

In any industry, competition for entry can be fierce. In a time of unemployment concerns dominating the press, and many people finding themselves out of work, demand for each position can be even greater.

In the case of graduates, the sad truth is that no matter the level of education, experience is often what employers will require when considering an applicant. With so many people attending university, it is difficult for employers to distinguish between one graduate and another. Something needs to stand out from the CV, and prove the candidate wants the job.

The value of real life experience cannot be underestimated in gaining employment. While a degree shows an aptitude for learning and an ability to commit, nothing exemplifies a candidate's ability to work in a chosen field like experience in the job.

I am currently participating in experience with Zabisco in my chosen area of Public Relations, and am really enjoying my time in the office, whilst learning a great deal along the way. The small team is made up of really friendly people, and witnessing PR through online formats is very interesting. There's always someone on hand to help me if I need it.

If you would like to be considered for work experience in PR or any area at Zabisco, send a CV and cover letter to team@zabisco.com.
