Information Architecture

The science of organising content effectively is known as Information Architecture (aka IA) and as well as being an effective method for projects, it happens to be one of our key USPs as an agency.

The planning and organising of content is one of the most important parts of any web project and it just happens to be an area of our expertise (probably because we've been doing it for so long - before it became fashionable even!)

Whether you need to audit a current site before planning a redesign or are starting out fresh, our IA's will guide you through it.

Sitemaps

Most people's idea of a sitemap looks like a flat, 2-Dimentional tree diagram; akin to an org chart. It's no wonder then that so many web sites and intranets tend to be structured with an inside-out perspective, rather than being planned around what information is actually needed and how it can be pulled together to form effective navigation.

Without putting it too bluntly, we're experts at this and we've done it for clients of all shapes, sizes and sectors.

Our Information Architects are amongst the leaders in the field - we write well respected blogs, have loyal followers on Twitter and have editorials in some of the leading trade media. Not just because we're passionate about it, but because we're helping to define and improve standards and are constantly creating new and unique ways to visualise information.

Taxonomy

The wording and labelling of your information resources plays a key part in it's effectiveness and we're well versed in helping to define the right tone.

Depending on your project and context, we can help you decipher whether to use conventional taxonomies or take influence from researched, patterns, trends and jargon.
